“You can make a big difference in a kid’s life as a pediatrician.”
Dr. Michael Daley spends his life devoted to the well-being of children. For more than 22 years he has had a successful pediatric practice, 20 of those years here at Reliant Medical Group. Once you interact with Dr. Daley, you can tell that caring for children is truly woven into his life in many ways.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, he spent his years in high school and college working as a playground instructor. “What could have been better than to play sports with kids and get paid for it!” Despite his busy physician schedule, he consistently makes time to be an active role model for children outside his practice, as a basketball coach and a Babe Ruth baseball coach in Shrewsbury. “Sports are an integral part of any child’s life. It is important not only for their physical well-being, but for their psychological and social well-being as they grow and develop to become healthy adults.”
A graduate of Holy Cross and Georgetown Medical School, Dr. Daley conducted his residency at UMass and has also taught at UMass, but he says, “The experience here at Reliant Medical Group has always been a positive one for me. The people are friendly and truly care about our patients. In fact, I trust the care of my own children to the doctors here. I know they’re in good hands.”
“I like working at Reliant Medical Group for several reasons. I know my patients will be well cared for when I’m out of the office, we have very helpful and caring support staff and the group practice makes it easier to concentrate on patient care, not the business side of running a practice.”
Dr. Daley has numerous patients who have grown up and now bring their own children in to see him. “It’s a real joy to watch patients grow up and then have them bring their own children back to see me. In fact, there’s a couple that brings their two children to me now who both had me as their pediatrician when they were younger. It’s one of the highest praises I could receive.”
When he’s not caring for children in the office, on the court, or on the field, Dr. Daley likes to relax with a good John Grisham novel, play basketball and enjoys traveling when he gets the chance. “Hawaii and the Caribbean are great places to go snorkeling, and I enjoy every opportunity I get.”
