Infertility is a common problem that affects millions of people all over the world. In the United States, nearly one in five couples experience some form of infertility issue. A comprehensive fertility evaluation is the first step in determining why you have been unable to achieve pregnancy and have a child. Keeping in mind that conditions that lead to infertility can be caused by males or females, in approximately 40% of infertility cases the cause rests solely with the male partner. In 30% of cases, both partners have conditions that may lead to infertility. In some cases, the exact cause of infertility may never be known. Once the cause of your infertility is determined, we will recommend the proper course of treatment that offers the best chance of you and your partner enjoying a happy, healthy baby.
If you are under the age of 35 and you and/or your partner have been trying to conceive for a year without success, we recommend that you contact us to discuss the matter and come in for an evaluation.
If you are over the age of 35 and have been unable to conceive for six months, we recommend that you come in for a fertility evaluation.
Women who are experiencing irregular menstrual cycles or are no longer having a menstrual cycle should also consider evaluation. Given that fertility declines with age, it is important to act quickly if you are having difficulty conceiving a child.
