Reliant Medical Group Selected to 10th annual Physician Group Honor Roll by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care

One of Only Three Physician Groups in Worcester County Selected to List

WORCESTER, Mass., December 2, 2011 – Reliant Medical Group has been selected to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s 10th annual Physician Group Honor Roll.  The Worcester-based provider is one of only 57 physician groups from across Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire to receive the distinguished honor. Only three organizations in Worcester County, including Reliant, were named to the list.

The Harvard Pilgrim Honor Roll highlights adult and pediatric physician groups that have achieved exceptional results in their approach to disease prevention and the treatment of acute and chronic illness.

“We’re excited to be recognized for this achievement along with some of the top healthcare providers in New England,” said Dr. Robin Richman, Reliant Medical Group’s executive vice president of medical affairs/chief medical officer. “We take a lot of pride in our approach to patient care, and this award is a true testament to the effort and dedication put forth by our physicians and staff on a daily basis.”

Harvard Pilgrim selected the Honor Roll physician groups based on clinical performance measured against national standards set by HEDIS® (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set), a tool developed for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to assess the clinical performance of doctors and other medical professionals. Harvard Pilgrim reviewed performance in three domains of clinical care affecting both adult and pediatric patients: acute, chronic and preventive care. Physician groups were identified as Honor Roll practices based on points earned for performance on 16 measures such as appropriate treatment for children with upper respiratory infection, comprehensive diabetes care and breast cancer screenings.

"All of us at Harvard Pilgrim appreciate the commitment of our provider partners to improving the delivery of health care," said Eric H. Schultz, Harvard Pilgrim’s president and chief executive officer. "We commend Reliant Medical Group on their dedication to exceptional care and know that our collaboration will make a positive difference in the lives of the people we both serve."

Reliant Medical Group, along with all of the Honor Roll practice providers, is noted in Harvard Pilgrim’s printed and online provider directories, enabling members to evaluate and select physicians based on quality measures.
